the first crosswicks

--SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2003-

For one evening, the Crosswicks Community House is transformed.

Video projectors spring to life. A thick fog rolls across the stage.

First performer: Ombient

Multi-colored lights frame a solo guitarist and his ever-evolving organic wash of sounds.

Ombient uses his guitar to build up layers of loops and electronic sounds for the audience.

Despite the complexity of the technology, the human element still controls the musical direction.

Second performer: Stares to Nowhere

Keyboards, guitar and alternate tunings create unique aural textures.

The band sweeps the listeners along into a special musical journey.

Their intricate interplay slowly conjures up dreams of vast unknown worlds.

Third performer: Brainstatik

Although it's their fourth appearance in Crosswicks, this is Brainstatik's first indoor concert before a live audience.

Symphonic guitar synth sounds are unleashed through a tangle of wires.

Reverberating chords merge in a dance of audio and video.

Special thanks for live sound and recording by Wayne and Van.
